When I went to photograph them, I noticed the woman in red seemed to notice me doing so and thus, she smiled accordingly. I added the wild deer and the shed in the background as an afterthought because the composition that space was empty and I felt it needed to be filled. It tells the story of how 8-month old Rita wakes up one morning and discovers her grandparents from out of town, are her babysitters for most of the day. She is confused and unhappy and they must find a way to secure their grandaughter's trust & happiness. When the book was first released, it was recognized as 4th (hardcover) and 6th (softcover) for it's outstanding drawings, on Amazon. The second book, which is a sequel to the first, NOT FOR NOW BUT SOON, was published in 2016. The main character, Rita is 2 years old and expecting a brother. The story explores the benefits of a sibling for an only child in a realistic and entertaining manner. The third book, 'I'M GONNA MISS MY BROTHER, shows how Rita experiences unfamiliar emotions when her brother goes away for a long weekend. The book explores Rita's melancholy mood due to the realization that she loves and misses her brother in contrast to how, as a two year old, he expresses his same sentiments in a different manner.
